uprooted love

the mountains guard love

that will soon be despair

as the sunset cools sand

that resembles your hair

your cinnamon skin

lays right next to me

and your deforming shadow

outlines the sea

your fingers sink in

searching to root

warm in the land

that remembers your birth

so you stretch out your hand

and invite me to your path

but my fingers let go

to continue my own.
